Default In car headset

While at fall colors, a few cars had in car headsets so you could talk to each other while racing with all the wind noise.

Any idea where to purchase these units or comperable types. I am looking for something that I can wear on my head without a helmet to hold it against my ear.

Thanks

I remember seeing a couple of them there but I don;t remember who had them. The problem is it was just one speaker, so you were just getting one channel, not stereo.

If you remember the Pontiac Fiero, they had a stereo pair in the headrests, but that was designed by Pontiac, not some retro-fit. Now if someone could just make a stereo pair for the headrest...(hint, hint Rick).

Ummm, i'm sure that wearing a set of headphones while driving is far from legal in most states.

I think you are talking about FRS radios that have boom headsets - something you can pick up at any Best Buy, Target, Radio Shack, etc. I have an Audiovox set that came with headsets, a car charger, etc. They're not that great, but they get the job done for about $40.

Something like little 2 way radios, but at fall colors the 2 headsets pluged into a single box that you could adjust volume with. There was no wireless

Seems like an easy way to do this is with the right cell-phone headset -- one that wouldn't fall off your head and whose mike wouldn't pick up too much unwanted noise. Then you just call each other. No extra equipment or car gear.

That said, like kuyabil, I'm listening to the stereo through I-Pod-like ear buds, hooked into the rear (headrest) speaker leads off the back off the head unit. These provide much better speaker-to-ear connection than a typical cell phone headset. HPH
