Guys,

I will be changing the engine oil tonight. Is the crossmember (center of car) very distinct? Something I cannot miss? I don't want to raise up the wrong part.


Also, for the jack stands support location, its the metal piece thats on the outer edge near the door?


I have done springs installed, exhaust, etc on other cars but those are in the past.

The chassis and crossmembers are easily identified. The jack points even easier. You will not miss them if you take 5 seconds to find them.

There are 2 jack point looking things in the front. I think you want to use the one more toward the center of the car.

Also for some reason this car likes to shoot the oil out farther than my previous cars. Make sure to move the drain pan a little farther out at first.

 

If the jack doesn't fit, can you just lift the side of the car with the jack first then go to the other sides and complete the process. This way, I don't have to use the center location.

Is it OK to jack on the rear diff hub, right under where the drain plug is located?

 

...and make sure to move it back when it starts dripping straight down.

Does the service manual show the exact safe jacking points?

 

That IS the rear central jacking point. Use it.
