Default Car seems to have slown down

My car doesn't seem quite as quick lately.. when flooring it in second from about3k RPM to 8K RPM it just doesnt pull as hard as it has before... like VTEC doesnt seem as strong.. could it be my oil.. i have 2,700 miles on my car and i haven't added any oil or changed it.. the oil it a little above or on the top of the L. i know it low. and its a little dark.. should i just take it to honda and have them change the oil? thanks in advance

Dude, are you stupid? If the oil is low then of course you're not going to zoom. Top that sucker off, stat.

I would be surprised if your oil at the low mark would cause a performance problem. It would not be good for your car in the long run and would even be bad for it in the short run if you VTEC a lot. I have 3600 on my first oil and it is not black at all - slightly, very slightly, brown.

Temperature and humidity change could be what's going on, or your seat dyno is just out of calibration!

Hey, just my 2 cents but I've noticed a difference in VTEC surge when getting low on oil. Search for other threads on this site, you should fine more info...

Top up your oil and check your air cleaner. Also have you changed where you get your gas lately.....gas makes a HUGE difference especially in "additive states" such as California.

My bad for being brusque. Just that it will most definitely change VTEC if the oil is not topped off. People on this very board have experienced this. There's plenty of talk about how we need to check oil levels on our car often.

Garyj, oil level at the low mark WILL negatively affect performance.
