If I can give you some advice...
If you want to do some mods then do them for yourself... don't worry too much about what others think or car show impressions.
Nothing turns me off more than stuck on wings, diffusers, bumpers, etc. with no supporting performance mods. I'd fix the seats first and then plan out your mods from there.
It all makes sense now that we know its all about a family rivalry. Whose car gets the most attention at the shows.
Or at least getting enough attention to stop the ribbing from them.
My revenge would be out driving my car and enjoying it, while they're just parking theirs at the lame show. Mod it to enjoy as you see fit, then drive it, not park it.
I have a 98 prelude that I built my self its boostedH with Hondatas300 tuned my self... 550cc injectors 450 fuel pump 3bar map sensor, skunk 2 coilovers, konig backbone milled logo rims. 3inch custom back greddy 3-4 inch tip. I totally get the whole wing and diffuser thing on a stock car. But it can be a very clean look when done right. And the s2k will get boosted. And I was wondering when someone was going to say do it for myself and not for others, which I will. Like I was saying the front lip and stuff, but no one here seems to support that to much. Which is okay. Just thought I'd see if there's light mods, any small details or big details that would make the car stand out that I haven't thought about... And I'd love to get the seats redone in the suzuka blue, but I don't know anyone who can redo them.
Car already looks good. Maybe get some wheels and tires that fit properly and give the car a nice detail. The RSG lip is a great addition to a OEM+ looking AP1.
I'm not one to modify my vehicles although I did upgrade the suspension on one of my motorcycles using aftermarket pieces because the original suspension (which wasn't all that great to begin with) was beyond worn out as the bike turned 30 this year. Even then I modified in such a way to keep the stock look, lol.
I wouldn't want to do anything that I couldn't "reverse". Over time, these cars in all stock form are only going to become more and more rare. But again that's just me. My advice might not be the best since I'm not the type to go modifying my S. But I'd think that given the path you're wanting to go down you should do whatever it is that you personally would enjoy once you're finished with the car. At the end of the day what good is it to win something in a car show if you yourself don't enjoy the car? While I prefer the way these cars look in stock form, I'm well aware that other guys prefer to go with the slammed or stance look. (Honestly I don't even know what hellaflush is.) Some go for spoilers, others for wings, etc.. Some guys like turbochargers and others like superchargers. To each their own. You can't please everybody, so figure out just exactly what it is that will please you first and foremost. Once you've figured that out, then determine what the best logical sequence of the various mods would be since this will likely be costing you a fair amount of both time and money. People will be seeing your car in various stages as you go along so try to complete things in some sort of logical order, finishing up one project before beginning another. I do agree with others that the best place to begin would be to find a way to get your seats fixed up. A subpar interior is likely only going to distract both yourself and others from any other Investments made elsewhere.
While this sort of stuff isn't my thing, I do think that it's pretty cool that you can do this with your dad and your brother. (Get your seats fixed and out of these three cars you'd already have my vote.) Good luck!
I am one to modify a car but like you said i want to be able to reverse it if needed, which is why i would like to have a second hood to mess with and the lip would be oem or rsg, growing up my dad was big into fieros and he had tons of them. legit had three in a shop working, two of his own, one to race one was a show car. he had enough parts to build a entire car. he had all body panels frames to go from fast back to notch back, and I am starting to feel like me and the s2000 can carry that same type of thing on. as i would like to purchase another dash in the suzuka blue so i have another dash, after i finish my prelude and get a little more money saved up i plan on buying another s2000 or two... i would like to have a all original low miles s2000. but i do plan to mod my suzuka blue s2000 to an extent, I will for sure do the lip and boost it and get my seats done. ( anyone point me in a direction of getting the seats redone in the same color? ) and i will for sure do what i like most with this car. whether its wing or diffusers.. i do drive it spiritually and enjoy it very much! it has seen the track a few times and has been against my boosted prelude. I enjoy it very much. just was curious if anyone had a idea on a mod to get some attention that i haven't thought of. obviously get the seats redone. and possibly better fitting tires ( these are toyos r1r on it right now pretty expensive. ) and js2k, i do like the demon eyes. my dad has a pontiac fiero formula, with 4 sets of blue neon tubes under it... 4 36 inch tubes on each side of the car and has 2 24 inch tubes in the front and back. can light up roads end to end. when neons are done right they can look amazing and this car looks amazing. maybe i can find a picture of it. so i plan on doing leds on my prelude and possibly the s2000 but havent gotten that far yet.. it does take some work to make it look really good instead of ricey or stupid.
