I used to have a steel trailer for almost a decade and although it was good and very strong, it was heavy at 2,100 lbs and as mentioned above, they rust.

I have since purchased and aluminum trailer and I like it a lot better. It's not a dovetail, so setting the ramps up with my Race Ramps is easy and I don't have to take off my splitter. It's also about 1,400 lbs... I actually have to be careful standing on the back of with with weight in my hands and the trailer not hooked up as it will tip on me. I also had them add D-rings to the floor and I do prefer them over the pocket D-rings I previously was using.

With both of these cars, I basically center them over the trailer axles and maybe a few inches forwards. With other loads, I've had to change it up a bit. I have corner scales and a Weigh Safe hitch, but I've been pretty good at estimating it.

Looks good Great (!) other than that "white stuff." No concerns over your rig but I'm not seeing a Honda Ridgeline in the photos.

2024 Ridgeline Owners Manual indicates the maximum towing capacity is 5000 pounds and maximum tongue weight is 600 (not 500 as I assumed as manufactures normally just list max tongue weight at 10% of max towing.)

Nice section on towing in that manual starting on page 346. Tongue weight should be in the 10% - 15% range for safe towing. This will depend on actual weight and balance ya can't just wing it with (say) 12% and think it's good. Could be but... In the case of our 2000 pound trailer and 2800 pound S2000 if 15% is required (15% of 4800 pounds equates to 720 pounds) that will exceed the Rigeline's capacity. Just saying. No problem for F150/250. The YouTube trailer sway videos are terrifying.

I also knew a guy that hauled his miata all over with a honda oddysey and it worked great he custom built his trailer though just large enough and strong enough for that car .

But back to this setup. If you can find a trailer you can borrow or rent, you can just test it and measure tongue weight to get an idea. Dont rent a uhaul one. Find a rental place that has aluminum car trailers. I used to rent one before I bought my own. That will be more like what you will be towing with.

While the tacoma has 1500 more pounds towing capacity than a ridge line , if you can keep it under the max limits it should pull ok. It has similar tq and curb weight to our tacoma I believe. I actually knew a guy that hauled his s2k with one. So you can probably find a trailer setup that works.
