do it yourself quarter car wash for me cause I don't have a water hose at home.........but make sure you rinse out that scrubing brush with the water to remove any rocks or anything hard that might be hiding in there that might scratch your car first.........
yeah that works good, the foamy scrub brush gets all the bugs and dirt off. plus the no spot rinse is great in the hot summer time when the water drys before I can wipe it down

Not all car washes are bad and there are far worse things you could do to your paint.

Generally speaking, I think there is more good than bad that can come from taking your car through a car wash to remove the winter road salt.

I spent five hours detailing my "s" today in pretty cold temperatures; I just used a rubber glove to protect my hand from the cold water.

I would never take my car through any type of carwash...I took MY00 to an Autobell a couple of times but I found out that the products they used aren't good for the car.

I use Zaino for everything to clean my car...wash, wax, leather, tires, glass, etc. Once you go Zaino, you never go back. There is no subsitute

I've never been through an autowash, but I do go to the wandwash stalls to wash my car. I'm careful with the wand around the seals and clean the foaming brush prior to use. It is fast and gives a pretty good cleaning job. I have thought about going through a touchless wash just to get the undercarraige cleaned, but haven't done it yet. After reading some of the posts here I might give it a go.

Never took my ITR to the carwash and never will take my S to one. Fine scratches will appear over time and are especially evident on darker colors.

For those that daily drive their cars, I feel for you. In that case, I may break down and do the DIY stalls. They're not too bad.

True, there are things that are worse for your paint... like 60 grit sandpaper.

Gary, wash that sucker in the garage with QEW.

when going through touchless carwashes or even the do-it-yourself car washes how do the seals along the windows and hard/softtop hold up?? With my hardtop i get no real leaks with the handheld pressure washers, but with the softtop i get some leakage along the drivers side window. Never taken the S through a automated car wash.
Haha, I've gotten the same thing!

I have only taken mine through touchless (water jet) car washes. A couple of times, there was water leaking in through the driver-side window.
