If you have a voltmeter, test the battery, should read like 10-12 volts. Then you can cross out the battery as the problem. Like people said, double check your connections. And if you can is able to be jumped and it stays on, it probably is the battery. Are the headlights dim?

I doubt its the relay. It sounds like it may be the battery still. Try putting in a new battery. Sears will refund you if it doesn't fix the problem. If it still doesn't fix it, then I would say Honda, but make sure you bring knee pads cuz it'll cost you $$$ just to run a diagnostic.

if your engine isn't turning over and the voltage on your battery is fine it could be your starter

If it starts strongly sometimes and not at all other times, then it sounds like some of the windings in the starter are going bad. If this is the case, the no start instances will increase in frequency until the starter goes completely bad. I have changed starters in other cars, and it is not hard as long as you have access to tools. However, I have not changed an S2000 starter.

When you say clicking, what exactly is clicking? And how many clicks do you hear? Is this clicking coming from the actual starter motor itself? Is it only clicking once or many times really fast?

If the starter motor is clicking many times really fast, most likely the battery is dead, or maybe the starter motor itself is dead. If the starter motor clicks only once, than you most likely have a dead starter relay switch. When a starter relay switch begins to wear out, it can intermittently work and not work. Usually they decide not to work when they get hot.

If it is the starter motor or starter relay, you can take either out of your car and have it rebuilt at a local starter/alternator shop. That may be cheaper than a new one.

EDIT: the S2000 service manual refers to the starter relay switch as the starter solenoid, which is another common name for this part.
