Chevy's fall apart If you want problems and rental cars, buy the chevy....if you like reliability and HID's, buy the s2k, besides, it stands out!

Most of you who replied to M Aryan (does that mean what I think it does?) don't seem to be aware of what the Holden Commodore SS and the Lumina SS are. They are not the cheesy Chevrolet appliances that we love to hate here in the US. They are remarkably fast and competent cars made famous in Australia and evidently elsewhere in GM's worldwide reach. It is a sleeper sedan with the LS1 Corvette engine. We'll get to know these cars as the new GTO. Don't dismiss these cars so readily, guys. The choice is not as easy as you all think! (Although I'd still get the S2000!)

These go by the name of Holden Monaro (for the coupes) in Australia. We also have a 300kW (402.31 HP) version which goes by the name of the HSV GTS Coupe. Check out www.holden.com.au and www.hsv.com.au if you want more details/pics.

Whilst they aren't too bad in a straight line they will never handle as well or be as nimble as an S2000. They weigh a lot more but power wise they're not too bad. BTW for the price of an S2000 here ($75k AUD) we could get a 280kW (375 HP) HSV version..

Damn, I was hoping to be the first Aussie to pipe in here. Thanks Paul1948 and Alister for setting everyone straight. This ain't no Chevy. It's a Aussie muscle car and the first decent looking one in 20 years. It'll take the US by storm when it gets there as the new GTO. Probably the best car we've ever built and a credit to Australian design and engineering.

BTW, get the S2000.

Have you seen the front of the GTO though AusS2000??

I think our local versions (ie the Holden and HSV versions) look a LOT better.

The S is the funnest. If you're buying a sportscar for the grin-factor, test drive the S. If you have any doubts after driving one, then it's not for you.
