Carbon Fiber Trunk Fitting

Default Carbon Fiber Trunk Fitting

i just put on my VIS carbon fiber trunk...but on one side it is lifted...does anyone know how to fix that...?

I think it's because of the tension of your trunk springs. Sorry, but I can't advise you as to how to fix it now that it's warped. Remove the springs and maybe you can "massage" it back and it'll stay.

You'll have to remove the trunk springs and leave them out.

also...when i pop open the trunk..i have to use some force while using the option button to get it open...thats not normal is it?

CF trunk install it says to take out the springs so you wont damage or warp the trunk like viper said.

you took out the springs correct?

so i would figure it might be a little harder to open

Some force on what? The button? The trunk lid?
Pushing the remote button harder doesn't make the function work any better. It's electronic and not directly connected to the trunk release.
Sounds to me that you need to adjust the latch properly. It's probably not holding the trunk lid right. You can't just put on a new trunk lid and have the latch mechanism grab the lid catch the same way.

I don't think he's taken them out yet. Look at his last 2 posts. They are 1 minute apart.

I took my springs out..and it sat perfect...

but of course ...when i press my trunk button on my remote...the trunk doesnt pop up..i have to manually pull it open....but nothing major...its part of having a cf trunk and for it not to warp...
