those carbon look wrap been around for a long time, seem like a lot bmw are rocking those.

the reason you don't see alot of cf part for the interior is because the low(or non existence) return of investment in cash vs weight saving.

looks nice for some people but i guess no everyone is into cf-looking/fake cf part

the weave is 3D/textured, and reflects light the same way real cf does. (changes from black/gray to gray/black)

and yep, the BMW forums had it first. its a vinyl, not a real carbon.
however... they have it @ $65 sq/ft.

www.drycarbonwrap.com has it for much, much less- and gives 40% off for s2ki members, you just need to email them.

i wanted to set up a group buy for some pieces.
you could easily replace the rubber around the shifter, you just need to pull it up first.

i love the whole obsession of whether or not it's real carbon fiber on parts that have no strength or weight benefits. if you're not using carbon fiber to make something light and strong, who gives a crap what or how its made? wow, your cupholder isn't real carbon fiber? crap, it might fail under braking into turn 1 and spill pepsi on your dress. yes, dress. if you're not going to use the material properly, how about not buying it so the price will come down somewhat for someone that is using it.

it will work the other way long term. more CF junk --> more demand (high prices short term) --> more producers --> more supply --> lower prices

make more CF stuff so it gets cheaper for everything else!
