can someone run a carfax for me? it is for a 2002 suburban that we gave back to chevrolet under the lemon law. when it went back, i asked the dealer and zone rep if it would be explained to the new buyer that this truck was a lemon. they both insisted that it would be.

I'm beginning to wonder if Carfax ever shows a lemoned title.

I had a 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 that GM had to repurchase from me as a lemon.

When Carfax started up, I ran my car's VIN and it didn't show as a lemon.

I submitted various notarized documents showing that GM DID repurchase it from me as a lemon. This was at least three years ago.

Last time I ran a Carfax check, it still had a "clean" title.

It makes me want to track down the owner and offer him $1500 or so for the car so I can get the $5000 from Carfax...

 

The 5000 dollar offer from CarFax is only for a clean title. It has nothing to do with the vehicle condition report. It only means you are not buying a stolen car. A buyback as a lemon would have no effect on the title.

 

it's about as i guessed, they unloaded that POS on some unsuspecting person. is there anyway to find who bought it?
