Default Carfax questions

Can anyone shed some light on some carfax terms for me? I am looking at an 02 sebring silver with 43K miles. 1 owner. I am buying it from the same dealership who the original owner bought and serviced the car at. The carfax is showing steering/suspension checked, and drivability/performance checked.

I don't have a lot of experience buying used cars and never ran a carfax before. It would be nice if the report wasn't so vague.

I know I am probably just being paranoid over nothing

I'll call the dealership tomorrow but was just curious if anyone knew what this most likely means.

(1) Look at the carfax primarily for accidents. Then understand that Carfax is not the be all end all and not all accidents get reported or fixed via insurance... In other words, make sure you see all the VIN stickers (http://picasaweb.google.com/msasges2/S2000VINs#) so you'll be 100% sure there were no accidents.

(2) Get maintenance records from the owner/dealer if you can so you can see what was done and what was not. A one owner car is definitely a good sign, but not a guarantee.

(3) Get a compression test done to make sure the engine is in good shape and is within spec.

(4) https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/775...-a-used-s2000/

These few things should cover 99% of your bases.

Sounds like fancy words for a dealership alignment?
