Instead of answering his questions, you should have played the joke back on him. With a straight face, yYou could have said "you know if you had hesitated about 3 seconds more to tell me you were kidding, I'd have pulled the gun out of my ankle holster and shot you. I'd be a lot more careful next time, funnyman"

The look on his face would have been worth it

 

Um, you could've pressed charges against the man in black for assault.

 

I would have said...."Hey pastor,pulling crap like that is how angels are made"

 

You should've thrown him under the car and done a 9000RPM clutch drop on his face.

In all seriousness though, posing as a hi-jacker is not a smart thing to do, especially in certain areas where people will respond aggressively. I think you handled it well, but you should've had a talk with him.

 

That was UNBELIEVABLY STUPID on his part and, even though he was a priest, I would have informed him that his half-witted introduction could have caused unfortunate consequences had it been another guy not as nice as you.
Yeah, maybe not very polite, but hey, this is a COMPLETE STRANGER!
Glad it was nothing serious though.
