Default Carpet warranty ?

On my04 the carpet in the drivers area across the brace has a cut in the carpet, which almost seems like a knife was used. however, feeling under the carpet there's a screw or somthing under there that caused the carpet to split.

Anyone have this issue or a carpet issue and try to get warranty ?

The only waranty claim I ever had on my s2k involved the driver's side seat bolster pad, which sort of developed a separation in it. Probably as a result of my fat a**! In any event, the Honda dealer happily replaced the driver's seat padding under warranty. I would hope the same would be true of a cut in the carpet apparently caused by a screw beneath the carpet.

Thanks,
Richard

Should be covered aslong as the screw is a factory piece.

In my case of the bad padding on the driver's side seat bolster, it was not a "good will" anything. My car was still under warranty, and the dealer handled it as such. Now, if one's car is out of warranty due to miles and/or time, dealers sometimes do a "good will" repair, especially if the car is not VERY FAR out of warranty. But if a car is within warranty, both in terms of miles and time, this carpet problem should be covered.

Thanks
Richard

I'm not sure if this is exactly the thing you are talking about, but I noticed a cut in my carpet 2-3 long on top of and perpendicular to the brace beam. I have an 05 and noticed this within a couple months getting the car. On closer expression I noticed that there is another slash on the other side of the brace, which seemed odd.

So I took it in for warranty work. The story they came back with after inspection is that those slashes are for "venting" heat from the floorpan or something like that. They checked at least 3 other S2000s on the lot and they all had identical slashes.

If you do end up taking the car in for work let us know what they tell you, but I suspect they will come up with a similar answer.

This story from the dealer seems odd, to say the least. Just inspected my '01's carpeting along these brace beams, and there are no "cuts" there after almost five years of use. Moreover, I've never noticed any heat that needed to be vented down there. And, I don't think the s2k has been changed in that area of the car since introduction.
This smells fishy.

Thanks,
Richard

I have the slashes in my 04 too - I was upset when I first found them, but they really aren't visible unless you're looking for them.
