Default Catching on upshift from 2nd to 3rd

I've read all the post's on this topic. I don't have the dreaded 1-2 grind. But I do have the "catching" on the 2-3 upshift. Never happens on downshift. It just seems like the clutch needs to to be disengaged just a tiny bit more when doing this shift. Just like the other posts, mine doesn't do it every time and accelerating harder also makes it less likely to happen. Also every now and then when I drop it into first with the clutch fully depressed it kind of abruptly clanks. Again kind of like the clutch is not quite all the way in. Does it make any sense at all that the clutch would need to be disengaged just tiny bit more for one particular shift (2-3)?

I read a post yesterday from a guy who had the same problem and all he had to
do was to adjust the clutch pushrod so that all the free play was removed. I assume that results in you being able to push the clutch in that much further. It seems like there is a fair about of free play before the clutch begins to disengage. I was thinking of having my
dealer remove like half of the free play and see if this resolves my issue. This seems like such a simple fix (assuming it will in fact resolve my issue) that I'm surprised it hasn't been
suggested in this forum before. Anyone else tried this fix?

Other than this small issue this car is great.

cool. Thanks for the link. I was wondering if there were many forum members who've tried this. Also I was wondering is it common for these cars to come out of the factory with mis adjusted clutch pushrods?
Mine is 2004

try to play with your clutch and gears...mess around until you feel the right easy slip for the clutch and the gear...then you memorize it...

my gears always slide through easily now because i know how my car is...

Hmmm, I would think if I have the clutch fully depressed I should be able to shift into third from second and not feel like someing is catching. It just seems like the clutch could be disengaged just a little bit more. I'm not talking about the sensation of moving into the next gear. It's more of as I move into third it feels like something spinning is taking a whack at something thats not.

not to be overly simplistic, but have you changed the MTF fluid?

I can tell at about 6k miles that the tranny (mine) gets notchy and returns to a better feel with new Honda MTF. Depending on your mileage it might be worth considering (plus it's just good maintenence)
