CD Changer In Trunk
I'm trying to decide whether to add a CD changer in the trunk (no where else to put it). Have any of you guys done this? If so, got any recommendations? Thanks, -Ken

Ken,
That is where the Optional CD player comes if the dealer installs it. Some have installed theirs in the secret compartment. Other than that, I dont see it fitting anywhere else.

Under the drivers seat is also an option. Best advice would be to attach the changer to the seat itself so the seat can still be moved. There is not enough room under the passenger seat.

I put mine under the driver's seat with velcro. It worked out great. You can still move the seat, but not as far forward as you could before, but this doesn't really matter if you are the main driver. My driver seat is usually back all the way anyway.

My amp and CD changer are mounted in the floor of the trunk facing up-and flush with the floor. The only problem with this location is that it pretty much eliminates your trunk space, because you don't want to put anything on top of them.

Thanks guys. Any suggestions on the brand of the changer? I think Alpine has a different set-up where you would attach a face remote instead of the corded version. Not sure where I'd put the face if I got that one.

Best idea I saw for a wired remote was inside the radio comparment door, so when you pop it down, the remote flips down and is right there for use.
I believe someone got the Alpine to directwire to their factory HU. You could of course go for the Honda Changer.
Personally, I would rather replace the HU with an MP3 playing HU and not have to worry about a CD changer at all. Just an alternate suggestion.
You might consider re-posting this to the electronics forum or asking one of the mods to move this thread as I am sure you will get more ideas.

Mine is in the center of the tool kit. It just sits in there, with a piece of heavy foam in front and back to keep it from moving. 2 1/2 years like that without a problem and the cover goes back over the tool kit so you don't lose any trunk space.
