so how the hell r u supposed to get this out, im trying with picks right now and its really hard, help

Keep working at it, be patient. It's very hard to do. Some say a quick yank works, others get the best results with a slow steady pull. YMMV. My girlfriend had to do mine for me.

Yeah it just takes time. I think its more luck than anything. Keep at it and it'll just pop out eventually. Its definitely a pain in the ass, no doubt about that

I just drilled a hole the same height as the groove the "c"-clip sits in. Push the ring towards the center and use a pick to get underneath. Pull and it's out. No struggling.

I came to the conclusion that you need to use "quality" picks. I didn't have any luck with the picks I had, so I went and got some new ones from NAPA and it was out within minutes.

NAPA has the picks you need. They are the ones with the orange handles and are less than $10.

I always used 2 picks. One to hold the ring from sliding and the other to grab the end.

Slow or Fast....either way works.

If all else fails..... try the drill method. Only drill with a very small bit and create just a slight enough divit that you can get the hook underneath the ring.

thanks guys, i tried for like an hour last night with the picks i had but no luck, im gonna go get some good ones today

first time i tried it took 20 min

the next time i tried (different car) took 15 seconds.. i didnt even get the chance to finish saying "the last car i did took 30 sec-" and it popped out

ok its done, thanks for the help guys, as soon as i put the slave in a vice i had much better leverage and it came right out, now to go try it out
