Default Cel Came On With New Cai

I installed a K&N CAI last night and drove it around for about 40 miles without any problems, I have a MY '00 btw. I turned the car on just now and the CEL came on. I checked all the hoses and they are still attached and nothing is kinked and the hoses are connected correctly. What could be the problem? Any ideas? Any suggestions?

- does your car make a strange noise (like something is lose)...
- check the code...
- the only thing I can think of are the two hoses near the throttle body...

Same thing happened to me, switch the vacuum hoses (big pointing finger in the picture above) then reset the fuse under the dash, if that doesn't work, bigger problem afoot, but it's probably the vacuum lines.

- no, it may take some mileage before a CEL comes on...
- to reset the ecu: pull the 'backup' fuse from the fuse box for about 15 seconds, then put it back in...
- to check the code: click HERE.

Okay thanks guys for all your help dut, you know your stuff. I checked the code, it was something like air mixture. I pulled negative battery lead to reset the ECU, now my next question is, When the ECU is "relearning" the CAI, how long does it take and also how is it suppose to idle? Mine idle is kinda rough then mellows out everytime I go into neutral. I know its now the hoses because i reversed them just in case and the car wouldn't even idle the other way.
