Certified Pre Owned Question
Ok, so 2 questions.
#1 - I have been reading all the soft top problem threads lately with holes forming on the corners. I bought a CPO MY02 in December of 06 and have a hole on the passenger side. Is the top with the holes gathering something Honda will take care of under the CPO warranty?
#2 - Something odd, but the drivers side wheels have been painted a flat gray color, while the passenger side wheels are stock finish. I did not notice this when I bought it since it was a dark rainy night when I signed the papers. I actually did not notice until I washed my car for the first time. I know it may be a long shot, but is this covered?
Thanks a lot!

You have a copy of the CPO warranty; I don't. Why don't you read it?
I am more interested in people's experiences getting the top replaced, not what a piece of paper says.

You should still read it, though if you haven't already. Thoroughly.
Like I said, I am looking for real life experiences.
I wont go into a rant about my experience with Honda CPO, but as I understood it at the dealership the CPO warranty covers parts and labor on approved drivetrain repairs. All others problems/repairs including the soft top would only be covered with their extended warranty plan. As for your different color wheels, I would inspect the car more. I had a minor accident last summer and while replacing/installing parts I found evidence of a fairly serious front end collision. Im sure it depends on the dealership but in my case their CPO inspection was

When are people going to learn CPO & 120 point inspection doesnt mean crap.
CPO does mean you have a warranty of sorts. But dealers dont inspect cars at all. They dont do crap other then wash and clean them and throw them on the lot to sale.
I ve worked for some major dealerships.
Its all just their way of saying our cars are worth a couple of thousand more then private sellers. They need some way to argue it and thats what they came up with.
Now if you do buy a used car from a dealer that is reputable and some how find out it has had same major problems or just happen to have some problems they will proabably take care of it in the first couple of weeks to maybe a few months. Just so they have a happy customer. But they dont have to.

1. was the carfax clean - even so...it could still have been damaged and not reported to the police and insurance company.
2. CPO covers 12 monthes/12K miles (bumper to bumper) from the date that YOU purchased the car.
3. CPO covers the DRIVETRAIN up to 7 years/100K miles TOTAL.
4. you should have gotten a CPO inspection sheet with what was checked and what was replaced/repaired. this includes the tech's ASE cert. number.
5. CPO will not warranty/sell/cover a car that has been in a major accident/frame damage.
6. all of the info is in your CPO booklet and papers.
hope this helps.
tell them to replace the top if it leaks. how could it have been sold as CPO with a leaking top.
