I'm thinking about attending the CGI Driving School at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan in April or May. Has anyone had any experience with this school? Thoughts? It's $150.00 per day which seems pretty cheap.

Brian, I did about 7 of their schools at Gingerman last season. The instructors were OK, Nick (GTRPower) was one of the best. I'll ask him if he is going to do the schools again next year. Phil Mirenda is a very cool guy and is very interested in seeing our S2000 community flourish.

Worth the $150? If you can drop a 150 bucks to have long sessions on a great track, hell yea. Go for it!

One thing though, you have to be proactive about getting instructors to ride with you. They don't automatically ride with you. You have to approach them. Many of the drivers that were there last year, were experienced with Gingerman, so they didn't push themselves to ride with you or vice versa.

I'll be doing as many as possible this year...the schedule is posted on http://www.cgimotorsports.com ...

I'll be posting when I go out there, let's make a convoy out of it. Nick and several others will be headed out there for lots of track time this year...

Also, there is a Speedtrial event at Gingerman this weekend...wanna come along?

I'd take Greg's word for it - just go if you've got 150 bucks a day to spare. I haven't raced at the Gingerman, but down South, at Texas World Speedway, there are similar runs you can take. They range from 175-275 for a Saturday & Sunday run. It's the best money you can put into your car. If you haven't gone out to the track before, especially with an instructor - do it! You'll end up learning more about your car in that day or two than you will driving it for five years.

CGI puts on very good events and they're well worth the $150.

Thanks for the responses. I already have plans this coming weekend, but thank for the invite. I'll definitely will be going to CGI school 4/15 or 5/15. Hope to see some of you there.

I hope to be there on 5/14. Can somebody tell me if we really need arm restraints (per the FAQ) when driving the Stook?

I spoke with CGI about the arm restraints and they said not to worry about them.
