Changes for 2004
On page 36 of the newest issue of Car and Driver, there is a paragraph that details the changes that will be made to the S2000 for 2004. According to Car and Driver, the changes include a 2.2 liter engine, more torque (but the same hp), lower redline than the current 9000, softer suspension, subtly different front and rear fascias, new interior trim and oval tail pipes.
Has anyone seen pics of the 2004 S?

Lower Redline, Softer Suspension. I hope this is not true, which most of the news about new models is speculation anyway, but if it is true this is the end of the S2000 as we know it.

I read the paragraph in C&D, too. I think it means that we will see the 240Zing of the S2000 over the next few years. Unfortunate, but Honda is in business to make money and marketing dictates. On the other hand, those of us with "first generation" S2000s will own a true classic, as do owners of first generation (1974) 240Zs in comparison with the luxo-barges that came later.
More pics of the new S2200 coupe, coupe I said, at http://www.prelude-fan.de/s2200.htm. Atranslation of this page can be had by accessing it through Google and clicking on "translate this page." The accompanying text says that the car will have 250 hp, unlike the C&D blurb. May be a DIN v. SAE thing.
