Default check engine light on

just need to know how i can get that thing off

I would check the code that tripped it before resetting it. You can reset the light with the same tool you use to pull the code... Car parts stores usually let you borrow one for a deposit or they will hold your drivers license

check engine light isn't the same as your maintenance light.. you should find out whats wrong before just turning it off

Many parts shops will read the code AND reset the light for free around here.

you should figure out what the code is, have that problem addressed, and THEN reset the light, so you know whether or not you have fixed the potential problem.

why is evryone assuming that he hasnt addressed the malfunction already?
maybe he recently put on a test pipe and added the anti foulers.
