Default check engine light on test drive on 09

Hello- took a test drive in a new 09 with 10 miles on the clock. The battery was dead so they jumped and the entire test drive (about 15 min) the check engine light was on.

I assume due to dead battery - yes?

thx

Could be the fuel filler cap. ...but I definitely would have had the code pulled.

when i test drove mine, mine had the CEL..the guy told me it was because they prolly didnt put the fuel cap all the way in...so i was ok..signed everything and when i went home no CEL at all...i learned that that one was a close call and would never do that again without scanning it...1 year and 20k miles later no problems...

I hope you slap your friend upside the head. And email him pictures of his girlfriend when you "took her out for a spin" before he got to her....
