Like everybody said, it will go off after a few days. My Fit did this a few weeks ago, cleared itself after 2 days.

When my S did it, it went away after a few minutes.

Here is a link to a thread that will reset the CEL light manually. Only thing you need to make sure is that the CEL is really just the gas cap being left off. Most likely it is if you never received a CEL before.

CEL/ECU reset

yeah, mine does this pretty regularly. i always put it back on, but dont remember if i tightened it enough or if it just came loose. i normally just go to auto zone and get it cleared there.

oh well. I guess the key reset only works on 08 models. Glad you got rid of it tho.

Yeah, It happend once when my wife filled up the car...It took a day or so, but it was all done after
