On Monday Oct 23, I took my car out on Thunderhill Race Track in Willows,CA

109 miles on 9.8 gals of 100 octane gas.

11.12 MPG!!!

Yeah Baby!

And I have to say, I REALLY like the car on the higher octane gas.

So how do you like Thunderhill? I just loved turn 1 then turn 6,7 & 8 together. What was your highest speed down the straight to turn 1?

You need to be careful with race gas. Higher octanes (104+) usually contain lead in them. I am not sure if the 100 has it or not, but if it does contain lead, it can really mess up your O2 sensor.

Before you fill up, take the extra 30 sec to make sure... it will pay off in the future.

Lead will "poison" the catalytic converter and might lead to significant back pressure pre-cat.

100 octain gas is available in unleaded. You can buy it at your local 76 station.

Not in Cali. 93 is king. 92 at most places. Got those nasty pollution laws. I think airports and racetracks are the only places.

Oh I know. I wouldn't put leaded gas in the car. There were 2 pumps. 1 was 100 unleaded and the other was 110 leaded.
