Default Check This Out!

Hey guys,
I was just surfing the net, and I ran into an auction site, that was auctioning off a flood titled 2001 S2000 for 7,000$! The photos of it looked awesome, but I'm curious what the possible problems could be. For 7K, is it worth it? Thanks!

Could it have been a car flooded in the Houston floods? I saw a picture of one, believe it was red.

You are correct, it is in Houston. So what do you think, 7,000?
The things I could do to it for the money I save would be great, but at the same time, I'm not too familiar with what could be wrong with a flooded vehicle.

Damage could be very extensive if the car was actually being used during the flood vs just sitting in a flood situation.

It's also possible that attempts to revive it after the flood could have caused additional damage, i.e. was the oil changed before attempting to start it, etc.

Can you determine the level of water that was in the car?

Still interesting for the price but expect a LOT of unplanned work.

There's the link to the Auction. It is on Copart.com.
You have to join the site to get info, but it was free for me to join, unless I wanted to bid online. That would be awesome if you could check it out! They also have many other nice cars ( Supras RX-7's etc.) I'd like to get my hands on that car if you find it is worth it! Thanks for the help!

Man, the more I look at that pic, the more I want that car!!!
What's up with people who say that the S2K has no style or character?! I think the car is beautiful!! One of the best looking cars out there!

If you owned a yellow s2k, you could buy that for a whole set of matching replacement body parts, not to mention various things like rotors, wheels, electrical, and other non-water damagable parts.... IMHO 7k for it is a steal.

That has gotta be a bargain at that price.
You have to assume that the worst has happened and water is in the cylinders meaning basically a new engine would probably be required.
If you are mechanically minded, able to rebuild it and have access to a good workshop, its gotta be a good project car.
I am not a fan of yellow cars but the Stook looks amazing in that colour (never seen one in the flesh though).
Good luck
