Check these Asheville pics out!
I am sick as a dog, have been for the last several days...gotta love Chicago winters, man. What a pain! So tonight I'm busy planning S2KDays events and coordinating all this stuff is a lot of work, but quite enjoyable. I was going through some shots of Asheville last April and was recalled some very beautiful shots that I thought you guys might like...I'll post a few here and the album on Photopoint, as well.
TN 66 - on the way home, wow, what more can I say...24 miles of paved perfection. Totally awesome...
Foothills Parkway, which is the very nice entry into The Dragon. Long open sweepers, not a high speed run, but very beautiful and soothing, if those mf'ing Cadiliacs would just speed up a little, it'd be perfect!
Need I say more?
I got separated and then lost on the way to the dealer, so I was a little late. But here is a shot of the cars that were still there when I finally got there. Yes, I missed the dealer provided munchies too!
And of course, The Dragon. Yes, my dear Scarlet had seen many a tough miles up to this point and she was a little dusty, but man, she's a trooper. And look at that freaking road...it's absolutely perfect. 318 switchback in 11 miles?! Are you insane?! Mr. McDermott and son did it TWICE on Sunday morning...! We, in fact, this April will be doing The Dragon THREE times, if not more. Totally amazing...
Anyway, the rest of the album can be found here...More Asheville Pics
See you in April!

You didn't didn't just get lost on the way to the dealer....We said left, you went right.
You're runner were runner up for the the "Uh, which way did they go???" prize. I think I was the clear winner.
Now if I only had a shot of me pegging that bird at 70mph!

I did the Dragon 3 times last August on a motorcycle. It is a bike "eater". On any given day, you will see wrecked bikes. I was told they average two biker fatalities per month.
On the positive side, it can be a hoot even without pushing the envelope. Can't wait until spring to run it in my S2k! See you there.
