Default Check your strike plates!

I have a hard top and have had it on for the last year because I moved into a new house and hadn't made room to store it yet. I started to notice wind noise near my driver's side strike plate several months ago and figured the strike plate might be loose. Well tonight I finally got around to taking my hard top off and discovered that not only was the strike plate loose, it wasn't even connected at all! Both screws had come out and fallen down the A pillar. Luckily they didn't fall into the vent at the bottom of the pillar. The plate was just sitting loose inside the trim. So I suggest everyone check their plates for tightness regullarly to make sure this doesn't happen to you. It would have been a total nightmare if those screws had fallen into the vent or my top been damaged bacause it wasn't secured.
