Default Chip-Mender Silverstone - any experiences?

I bought the Chip-Mender T/U Pen from handa-accessories. It had the right code on it: NH-630M. But the color did not match well. It was way too light - closer to Sebring. I contacted them and they were very nice, and are sending another one out gratis.

Anyone have good or bad luck with this product?

I have the Formula red touch up pen from them. The color match is flawless. But it is a solid color, so I guess it is easier to match.

Silver is a very hard color to match due to the way the metallics are sprayed in a paint job and how you apply the color with a pen. I got touch up paint from Honda and it still doesn't exactly match. You can't expect to get a great match with colors like ours, you just have to pray it looks good from a distance and you can get the consistancy even.

I've had very good results with the "new" Silverstone pen from Autovisuals. Great customer service too. I believe they're still a site sponsor.

I also purchased a Silverstone pen from Autovisuals. It matches perfectly.

In my experiences with paint pens and markers, metallic colors initially are too darkor too light. Before touching up any chips or scratches on the car, I take the time to practice using the pen on a piece of acrylic or ABS plastic to ensure that the paint from the pen is properly mixed and flowing smoothly.

Is there a S2ki discount or do you buy directly from autovisuals.com?

Thanks.
