Choices
Following an extended period of deliberations I have reached the decission that the S2k really wouldn't make the best daily driver for me. Do not get me wrong, I fully recognize that this hand assembled engineering tour de force is one incredible piece of machinery and is a rare Japanese automobile that oozes personality. It's edgy, not perfect, but is without equal for anywheres near its price. I have found, that for me, it is too raw, too cramped inside for my use on a daily basis. Plus, I have to factor in the weather concerns in an area that can't cope with a half inch snowfall. Were I able to have it as a third car I would jump on it without a moments hesitation. But alas, my budget and my wife will not allow for a third car.
I've truly enjoyed this forum, it, like the car behind it, is also somewhat edgy, sometimes harsh, but a truly fun place to excahange ideas and experiences. I'm sure that I'll come back from time to time to see what's up.
So what will take the place of the would-have-been-mine S2k? I'm staying with Audi, and will be replacing my A4 with a 225TTR. It's not a compromise, it better fits my lifestyle, my needs and desires and I'm very happy with my choice. It's not about what is a better car per se, it's just that for me the TT makes more sense.Face it, you wouldn't want there to be unhappy stook owners, would you? I didn't think so. It's great to be in a marketplace where there is a spectrum to choose from. For a while it looked as if the insurance companies were going to eradicate the species roadsterus, leaving nothing between miatas and corvettes below the lofty 911's and beyond.
Anyway, I won't beat you in a race, but then again I'm not a racer. I'll see you on the road and each of us will enjoy our choices. Hmmm, maybe a chip, an exhaust......? Be well.
