Yes, theives should die.
These guys obviously wanted the parts off the car. I would guess they probably flatbedded the thing. How many cops do you know see a car being flatbedded away and run the plates?
I just wish I could catch people like this in the act. What a shame.

I had an MR2 stolen many years ago and it came back as a major strip, like your S2K. The good thing is that the insurance company will give you some cash to buy a new car -- which is better than trying to repair a car that has been trashed by thieves. I got a really nice settlement from my insurance company, and maybe you will to.
Sorry about your car.
Sorry about your car.
I am sorry to see this happen to a fellow owner. That being said there is always always a brighter side to look at. I know for a fact if my S2000 ever got stolen I would have a 2005 Acura NSX/ 2005 Lotus Esprit sitting in my garage as a replacement so either way I win. End of story.
Thats the only way I could look at such a huge loss and actually have a smile. I have had my cars stolen in the past and it does suck big time but when all is said and done its time to go shopping for another car. And you never go back. Good luck with finding the crooks and getting a new car.

Damn, that is horrible!
After my '99 Si was stolen/destroyed I started thinking about cares that were a little less likely to be stolen. I thought the S2000 was one of them. I really hope this doesn't become a trend. That was professional for sure. The bright side of it is that at least it will be totalled out and you don't have to get your car back with a Theft Recovery title and not knowing how badly they beat on it when they had it. Insurance should cut you a nice check and you can get a new one.
Sorry again.
