now suppose that one had the clear lens in the orange shape, but with a orange bulb.. this MAY disperse the light even less than if there weren't any lens at all.

Given also that the same bulbs are used in both. I think the problem we are going to have with the Stook is the headlights more than anything else. They seem to cause alot of complaints from people who have to ride in front of you.

Curious thing is never had anybody ever flash me for bright lights.

If someone can find a way of making these plastic lenses I see no reason in the world why they would be any different. Just like the white/clear sidelights I have with yellow bulbs. The optical gods have spoken...

Here's a comparison of the two corner lenses...

I would have loved to have had a clear version of the US lense because ours has off-plane reflectors that make the lense look a lot better...

Having swapped out the US assemblies for the European, I can tell you that there's a white bulb under that amber lens.

Ok, here's what I've been investigating...
I have shaners oranges pieces as a master to try and get a clear mold out of. Talking to a materials guy here at work, he claims that these orange reflectors are excellent work and in great detail, expecially the vertical reflectors. It would run $10-$20K to reproduce this piece in clear PERFECTLY!
By looking at the clear piece from shaners pic, this would be much easier to duplicate. Still expensive, but easier!

I'm still going to talk to a couple of molders to see exactly how much to make these orange pieces into clear, but I'm not optimistic of low cost.
My next step is to buy the euro clear corners and take them apart and try to mold THAT piece at a low cost!
This is not a quick and easy task!

To bad we don't know anybody from Japan that has access to Honda's supply of these clear pieces!

I'll let you know on my updates, just as a note though, this not a priority to me. I'm just doing this because I see a demand for these clear corners. Plus, I want them too!

Rick, so what color bulb are you using now? Did you go with amber.

cjb80,

I pulled apart the Euro-spec housings and put the corner pieces in the US Spec housings... so that I could aim them like stock (because they were in the stock housings). Now that I have the European aiming motors, I am purchasing new European housings so that I have sealed unadulterated housings.

My light experience is now verging on an obsession! I have spent on light related items what some people pay for whole used cars...
