Messing with any safety feature on the car is a in MY book.

Also it's illegal.

Clear brake light would not be diffused.

on that idea.

clear brake light is a no no!

When I had a miata, we used to have a inside cover that had a blacked out "miata" that looked cool like the "S2000" logo we have on the windscreens.

Apart from the safety thing, every time I see the ass end of a Lexus 300 SUV, I wonder what must have been in the mind of the jerk who stole the tail lights..

they're directional red leds. they would not look different at all when lit.

The housing would be clear, with red LED's inside and would be legal... I think the rear tail light is too big to look good as clear on our cars... maybe if I had a GPW I would feel differently...
