Default cleared diffusers

I know I'm going to get it. I'm sorry, I hate the "search" button, and yes I know I will get the "you stupid noob" and all. I used to get on them too on the CL forums.

Where can I get the cleared diffusers? Only place is Rick's? If thats the only place....WTF are they so damn expensive? $100 for some plastic? Come on now. Already checked eBay. All I can find there is the clear side markers. By the way, is there a big difference between after market and JDM side markers? Do they not fit the factory wire harness?

Thanks,
Dave

You could just pull the amber diffusers and go naked.

I thought that. I'm not super crazy about seeing the bulb floating in there unless the bulb is clear, but then it looks shitty at night. Does not match the HIDs very well. I was in no rush to do it until I put my JDM red emblems on today. As funny as it sounds I cant stand looking at the front end now. Looks like a damn clown's face!! White face, orange cheeks/ears, and red nose. I will throw a pic up later if you cant picture it.

Check your state laws. Here in TX is is legal to run clear bulbs for turn signals.

Rick is the only one who sells the diffusers. He had a mold made and then has the diffuser's made to order with high quality materials, so that's why the price is high.

The jdm's have the clear diffusers already in them and are probably the same quality as the amber ones you have.

I have naked cleared headlights and I think they look great. THe chrome shows instead of being hidden. I put hyperwhite bulbs for the running lights and amber bulbs for the turn signals.

I wonder how the nakedness affects LIDAR detection ranges. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...422#post2424422

Having more reflective material exposed could make you "stick out" more.

I'd seriously doubt that the extra 6 square inches or so is going to effect a LIDAR shot. Esp. since they usually aim for your license plate and the laser isn't very wide at all.
