Default Clearing headlights?

Noobie question.

When you clear the headlights is it req'd to buy a clear diffuser or
can you just take the yellow piece out and leave it the way it is?

You can just take the amber piece out and leave it totally clear. Some like it, others don't.

You can leave it out, but i think it looks better with a clear diffuser

make sure you see one with no diffuser before you decide to go that way...
its a lot of work if you change your mind!

my recollection is that without the diffuser you are looking at a bare bulb

You can remove the diffuser and go "nekkid" but I also think it looks better with a diffuser:

While you have it apart, paint the headlight housing too.

So is the first pic of the S2k in here with no diffuser or clear diffuser?

I'm trying to get the smooth..clear look.

If you remove the diffuser and don't reinstall a different one you will see the amber bulb and mirror-like light housing. I always thought that it made the car look damaged. To each their own.

I agree, i went through the process 2 times. A diffuser is the only way to go. Do it once , do it right
