for a long time i thought it was that metal plate that holds that protects black plastic box (is it the fuel computer?) rattling because it's loose (i broke one of the bolts while trying to get that rail off while installing my Invidia).

 

2000 - 2005 model, this was on TSB according to my knowledge.

If you still have warranty left, then I say take it into the dealership

but as I have experienced, dealership is a hassle you know. I am sure you

could do this yourself. I am not quite sure about AP1 specs but for AP2,

axle nuts needs to be retorqued to 180lbs.

 

I have this problem as well. I never really thought much of it before. I'd like to see a picture of what we need to torque. Also, is it possible to do this with a standard torque wrench?

 

Service Bulletin 011201 Sequence Number: 627 Clicking Rear replaced Hub Nuts.

To eliminate the noise, replace the spindle nut on the affected axle. Apply grease to the surface of the new spindle nut where it contacts the hub. Torque the new nut to 220 ft-lb, and stake the nut.

So, unless you have a torque wrench that goes to 220 ft-lb, you better go to the dealer

 

shouldn't honda take care of it even if you're not under warranty since it's a safety issue with a car that they've put out on the market? sorry if i sound foolish for asking this--i'll admit i'm young and inexperienced.

 

ap1 is 220ft-lbs and ap2 is 180ft-lbs.
