Default cluster question

u kno how wen u have headlights on at night the cluster light gets darker. right? and then u push the button and hold it and it gets really bright. is it like that to save energy? or becuz its too bright for ur eyes?
if it is for saving energy, how much energy does it take up if u kept it bright??
anybody have any ideas??

It is there so that when you have the top down during the day (or just during the day period) and have your headlights on you can still see the display easily.

Also, in case you hadn't noticed...pretty much every car made in the last 20 years has auto dimming console lights when you turn on the headlights/ parking lights.

so the display is easier to see during the day with headlight on wen its darker?

so if u turned it up really bright at night, does it use up a lot of energy? or no?

NO....it gets darker at night because it is easier on your eyes. The ability to make it brighter again is to compensate for daylight use of headlights and/or parking lights.

Energy consumption has nothing to do with it. It is a car not a laptop.
