Default Clutch durability given frequent launching?

OK, we know that you need to work the clutch to get the S2K to get off the line.

Now what I want to know is how often you do that and what does it do with respect to needing to replace your clutch.

I assume if you do 5000-6000 RPM launches daily its going to eat your clutch in X miles?

It seems like fun, but it feels abusive.

Can anybody report experience?

Can I just do it until I need glasses?

Thanks

This is a question that no one can really answer.

But if your talking 5000-6000 rpm clutch drops daily!?!? Then I'd "assume" your clutch would last no more than 5000 miles.

Only problem is, your diff will probably only last you 2500

If you're launching properly, it really should not be that hard on the clutch. The diff and halfshafts will eventually break. You can get hundreds of (maybe even a 1,000) launches before anything breaks, or you could get unlucky and break something on your first launch.

No, of course not, I would consider that completely unnecessary. I don't really like spending that kind of money on tires either. Actually I am kind of an "ease it in quickly then let the motor do its best" kind of guy. Of course since this is a 2 litre motor that's not very quick, so my question is more along the lines of finding out just what people are getting away with without frying their car.

Maybe the hard launch is something that's reserved for when you feel the need to prove something. For me that's not very often. (Or maybe its just fun on occasion.)

Reading some of the posts on this site, it sounds like some people here maybe do launch hard quite frequently and I was simply curious as to what the result has been with regard to the resulting wear on the car.

Hmmm, I've never dropped the clutch. I'm hoping to get 80,000 miles before replacement.
