Well I have a Star Spec2 clutch in my mustang and can say it is the best clutch ive put into it as it can withstand the the 430ft lbs of tq at the flywheel and still maintain a close to stock pedal effort. I spoke with one of their engineers and they severely underrate the flywheel hp and tq capabilites of their clutches. They sell them in different stages and if your car is mostly stock the stage 1 or 2 is more then enough. Dont get the 4 puck or stg 3-4 as its a racing clutch and the pedal effort is stiff and modulation isnt as nice due to the different damper springs. Ive heard the clutch is somewhat weak in the s2k, so i plan to use one of theirs when mine goes bad as i do swear by them given my experience with them. Good luck. Cal

i would say email bulletproof or importdevelopment and ask about a price.

Also, if you do get it, please let us know how it is and do a product review as well. I'm sure plenty of people are curious.

Thanks,
Tom

You can also ask Jeff at Evolution(also a sponsor) about the ACT's or Clutchmasters! He can get them fairly quickly and at the right price.

I'm running the ACT right now and really liking it.

so perhaps the star is better for NA, and act or exedy for FI cars?

Not necessarily. Chris(cjb80), who's putting down huge hp #'s, runs a Star Stage 3 and it's pretty damn extreme from what I hear.

If you didn't need as much clamping force(as I didn't) and wanted something more streetable, I'd suggest the ACT HD street disc and PP. It's a tad stiffer than stock and can handle a lot more power than the OE clutch, but with REALLY streetable characteristics.

Here's the website again, with the STAR clutch. I got the Star stage 2 kevlar/kevlar clutch.

http://www.importdevelopment.net/s2000/drivetrain.php

The complete clutch is $560 with a $20 shipping fee. Not bad when you consider Honda charges arpund $800 for a stock clutch.
