Default Clutch Question (Driving)

I've always wondered whether I am driving correctly so can anyone help me out?

When you shift and you depress the clutch and let go of it, does your heel touch the floor or carpet? When I shift my heel always scrapes the floor. Since I've been doing that it gives me a sense of control. With the heel not touching the floor (foot in the air), the process of depressing and releasing the clutch is smoother but since I never done that it doesn't feel right. Which way IS the right way to shift?

While I can't say whether your clutch technique is either a"right" or "wrong", I've always used the front part of my foot to depress the clutch, pointing my foot forward to push the clutch nearly to the floor.

With the S2K you can do that but on other cars, unless you have really really big feet, it's impossible to just plant your heel and toe the clutch down all the way and I do desire to have my clutch all the way so that's why I'm asking how to do it.

The right way is whatever you're comfortable with. If it feels good to you, stick with it.

Well I'm more interested in driving well rather than what I'm comfortable with. If I'm not doing something right I want to try and change it.

I keep my heel planted.

When I don't, I can feel my foot bouncing off the clutch when the road gets bouncy. This causes the clutch pedal to bounce and that doesn't feel right at all.

My foot isn't big enough to keep my heel on the ground while I depress the clutch. I shift similarly to what lvs2k does, just with the front part of my foot.

Again, I can see how you can plant your heel and shift in the S2K. But what if you're shifting in cars with longer throws?
