04 ap2 clutch at 193k commute/track/spirited. CDV until 166k which was then replaced with ap1 slave. I figure some may be curious here as to what the clutch at the mileage/use would look like
Now pictures of your timing chain and rod bearings please . Have you replaced your timing belt tensioner yet ?
Without the cdv , every poor rev match results in a nice firm yank on that timing chain and a thump on the rod and crank berrings .And let's be frank , nobody bats a thousand!! Also if you never make a mistake, you're not trying .hard enough!!!It's like a Honda engineer once said , making an engine that puts out a lot of power is easy . What's hard is making such an engine last 100k while doing it !!!
I am sure glad I got Honda in my corner as the revs go up to crazy rpm's how about you ??
Most of us here (probably by wide margin) don't have a cdv. Either because we removed it, or because our car didn't come with one.
Literally none of us has ever worn out their timing chain. Even the one with 450k miles. All the ones with >350k, more with 300k, whole lot with >200k, and way too many to count with > 150k.
The cdv protects 1 thing, Honda warranty diff claims. It sacrifices clutch wear and drivability to accomplish that. Since none of us will ever be making any diff warranty claims, and most of us value drivability over most anything else, as well as cost and effort to replace clutch, we veey wisely remove our cdv if we have one.

How many here have removed their Clutch Delay Valve? I've never considered doing this. I would have though only an infinitesimal number of folks have done this.
