Default Clutchmasters clutch on an 05

As many of you know. My clutch gave up the ghost due to the delay valve in the slave cylinder. I just got my stage three clutchmasters clutch with a 7 pound clutchmasters flywheel. I can't believe it! the car is driving better than stock! The car rev's all so sweet. The combo of the new clutch+flywheel+03 slave cylinder is the best the car has ever felt. Pedal pressure is actually lighter than stock. Off the line performance is alot more crisp. No stumbling off the line, like when it was stock.

I paid $1102 for everything from ultrarev. That price included shipping to me. At that price I got the stage three Kevlar friction disk and heavy duty pressure plate. And the clutchmasters 7 pound lightweight flywheel. It comes with throw out bearing and pilot bearing in the kit as well as the clutch alignment tool. I got this system on my mechanic's insistance as he has never had a problem with this brand. I cannot believe how soft the pedal is compared to stock. The pedal feels basically the same as my rsx's. This clutch is awesome. No lack of streetability at all!! On the contrary, it's better than stock. This will hold the same power as the exedy with none of lack of streetabilty.

Cool. Thanks for the review. I was looking for a new clutch/flywheel. I had already pretty much decided on this combo. I went ahead and orderd from ultrev (coupon: "save")... And got it for about the same price....

I see you also replaced your slave cylinder... Where did you get that from?

Thanks!

Rob

Goldtrom, I got the 03 slave cylinder from hardtopguy.com. Jeff is super cool to do business with. I only have good things to say about Ray at ultrarev as well. I just got off the phone with them as a matter of fact. Ray informed me that they are carrying driveshafts and axles for the s2000 now as well. I'm glad that they are sponsors their prices are awesome.

The clutchmasters clutch I had felt once was a piece of garbage and I don't think there was much testing that went on. The pedal was significantly harsher than OEM and on the S2000 I would be weary of it causing slave cylinder failure from the excess pedal effort.

This was the FX. Their customer service was also absolute trash, I call them to get some info if they had something else that wasn't so bad. The guy had no clue on anything and just kept telling me "110% more holding capacity than stock" as it says on everything they printed. Then he puts me on hold for 10 minutes where I just hung up.

There's a reason they're such cheap clutches and a definate reason why I'll never go back to them. I'm glad you had some success, but I wouldn't use it on my own car even if they sponsored me + cash. Maybe the stage 3 what ever isn't as bad.

Do you get any chattering when starting from a stop? The CM stage 3 is notorious for this clutch chattering. You have to over rev it when starting off or get stiffer motor mounts to keep it from chattering. I had to get stiffer motor mount inserts on my integra after I got the CM stage 3 clutch to control the chattering.
