I've heard Coastal Metals made excellent grill kits for our cars and I've seen one in person and was impressed with it, so I ordered a set... that was back in March. I was told that they shipped rather quickly so that was a nice thing to hear.

Since then, I've received replies to my emails (for status) saying that it was being powder-coated and that the item will ship within a week.. that was back in April. So I asked about the status again in late April.

I get this email in May saying that they are experiencing a few problems because they are restructuring and that orders will be delayed. I leave for a month long trip to Thailand and return in the beginning of June. I emailed them again but this time no response. Should I be concerned about this company or should I give them more time because it's starting to leave a rather bitter taste in my mouth.

well I amd many others have had very good luck with Dave (owner), but the wait you are going through is just TOO long IMO.

I should just sell you the one I have in my garage

I haven't had any issues with them, but then I got my stuff a couple years ago... Depending on what "restructuring" means, they could have been bought out or are going through bankruptancy or some such, which could be bad for both the employees and customers both.

Hard to say what's going on now, but like I said, they were fine to deal with before.

I agree with both that have replied.

For one this has taken way too long but I've purchased a front lip protector from them in the past and had it delivered less than a week later. I suppose it's hit and miss with Dave these days as I've been reading more and more of these delay type threads.

I'm inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt, but after two inquiries this Spring about availability of the lip protector and no response, I took my business elsewhere.

Hyper, I'm glad you posted this topic. It's been on my mind lately. I've had nothing but great experiences with many sponsors of s2ki. Rick's, Muz, H&A to name a few. But I am having similar issues with Coastal. I ordered (and paid for) a lip protector in April. I got the e-mail about a delay as well. I haven't called yet, but I sent 2 e-mails and have yet to get a reply. I'm not bashing anybody here, as I said, great sponsors here, but after 2 months, how about a status update!

Grab them on the 'phone - often so much more effective to talk to people than email

Absolutely! Call them and personally express your concern. If you don't get satisfaction, PM me. They are in my neighborhood and I'll go pay 'em a little visit.

Thanks for all the great advice and tips. I really believe that Dave tries his best to do what is best, so I'll be patient and give him a call. After all, the product looks so damn awesome that I feel that it's worth waiting for.

I ordered a splitter and grill form him some time ago.. and got great service. I know that this stuff is a side project for his main metal fab business. I imagine that the core business is taking most of his attention
