You have to reconcile the tuning philosophies of Germany vs. Japan as well. The Japanese tuners love to crank up the spring rates while the European tuners do with lower spring rates and different damping curves. This doesn't necessarily mean the harder riding suspension is the faster way around a racetrack

please elaborate.

i am not so experienced at the track. are the euro coilovers better at certain speeds, is there a certain driving technique to be employed to take advantage of their engineering? as it stands right now, if i had to race myself for time around my daily commute, i would put money on me on my RA's vs my time in the bilsteins. like i said, i have not had time to make the appropriate adjustments, and i really want to find a reason to keep the bilsteins, i am just looking for the answer.

like i say, the bilsteins feel like they will not snap oversteer like my teins, but i have not been daring enough test that theory as i am still on public roads(when no one is around that is). i suppose i could go a little harder and test how far the bilsteins want to give until the whole back end comes around beyond control. the way i drive now on the bilsteins, the tires will start to creak sideways little by little, no major jump, very predictable(i just get uncomfortable when i feel the car starting to slide). if i went a little harder i could see how far i can take it until the whole back end jumps out, i am being a little conservative right now because i don't want to end up on the side of the road. but i think i can push a little harder. we'll see, as it is, i think the front end of my car is too low so i might have to raise it and reevaluate.

Try adjusting your PSS9's to 5 or 4 you can make them pretty darn stiff. I'm set at 4 but plan to soften it up to 5. If you haven't already done so .. go take your S and get it counter balanced before you consider dumping the PSS9's. .. . ..

what is counter balancing??? sorry for the NEWB question there. o yea i was also reading that you have to preload the suspension b4 tighting everything up... did you do that? and also something about only avail to drop so low or something... if you go over that lowering measurement it won't work right... again i dont have them and am looking at them and getting my info through previous posts.

Yea I have also been tracking these two suspension setups along with the Ohlines U46 coilovers. The RA's are mainly for track use but there is a solution to the bad ride on the streets. Tein also sells their EDFC (i think thats the order) with this you can adjust your suspension from the seat of your car. It uses some small step motors on the top of the coilovers. I read that it also lets you save 3 suspension settings that can be accessed at the push of a button. As for the Ohlines coilovers which are also mainly for track use, they are 30 way adjustable which can also be adjusted to meet your daily driving needs.

by the way im not selling anything, its just info ive read

i don't believe the RA is compatible with the edfc, just the flex, and that isn't something i would need. i need a softer spring for the RA, just a little softer would do.
