Default Cold Air Intake qustion...

Yes I've done my research but I cannot find ANYTHING that tells me the specifics of what I'm looking for...

I want a CAI that has these features:

1. Aggresive sound (you can hear it breathe)
2. Best HP gain
3. Looks, but I don't quiet care about that.

I would rather have the HP gain but I'd give up 1 or 2 hp for a louder intake...

What are some of your suggestions and where could I find them... (links)

Thank you guys so much and sorry for being so NOOB!,

-Nick

p.s. I'd like to keep it on the lower end of the price scale... $2-300

Also i've been reading this, so if you're going to suggest a page don't suggest this one

K&N FPIK sounds great and no hydrolock issues.

What's hydrolock?

And, a CAI won't void my warranty will it?

Hydrolock happens when your CAI becomes a drinking straw and sucks up a puddle. Air compresses nicely in the cylinders.. water, not so much. It's basically like having your pistons hit a brick wall, with a significant amount of momentum. Connecting rods or whatever's feeling the weakest usually snap at this point.

AEM makes a valve that prevents a CAI from sucking water. I had one on my Accord, but I noticed a pretty significant power loss with it, so it came off. Hydrolock can be dangerous, you just have to be smart and not take your S through deep puddles.

hydrolock = sucking water into your engine through the intake = bad

However hydrolock isn't as much of a problem as everyone builds it up to be. Bottom line If you don't take your car swimming with you or driving through puddles that are very very deep you will be just fine

Yes a CAI will void your warranty (I think). Honda will take any excuse they can get to void your warranty...

I agree you should go with the AEM V2 CAI .... it has the sound you're looking for (sounds awesome) and it falls right into your price range.

Good luck with your mods

Here is a picture of mine....... (not the best picture but you get an idea of how much it opens the engine bay)
