College jobs?
Actually I think that is one misconception w/S2k by the general public, you must have some cash to drive an s2k. Now if your single, done with school, (no children) does not take a really impressive income to drive one w/out hindering your life style. I guarantee that most of the people at my work think I make about 20%-30% more then I do, I'm just thrifty
What are your skills? As a hiring manager I hire a lot of Co-Ops. Use your future degree to help you along the way.
I just hired a part-time co-op to do web development for me. It is beneficial for both sides. We get cheap labor and this also gives us a longer period to decide if we would like to extend the individual an offer.
On your side, you get experience and possibly the opportunity for a full time position. It also shows you the feel of a 'real job' I did this when I was a Junior. Luckily this is what changed my mind from Chem-eng to Comp-Eng. A decision I would not have make without my first co-op experience. Go to the university career center, you should find most positions there.

Remember, they tax the $600 and $200 dollars, so it will be more like $430 and $160.

They do tax the $200 b/c that is actually the paycheck.
I sold sandwiches in the dorms at my college. I bought hoagies, steaks and cheese steaks wholesale (60%) and sold them delivered to each dorm floor retail (100%). If we had leftovers, we had food and no money. Also, the sub shop gave me bulk cherry peppers so my wife and I had a lot of peppers that year.
I worked as "night janitor" at a local bar and motel. The smell of cigarettes and booze turned my stomach.
I tuned up VW engines on campus.
I worked in the college library.
I drove a three speed bicycle for three years and then bought a VW bus. It was a bargain since I lived in it for a semester.
Any investment you make in your own future will pay you back far more than any investment you make in a car.

If you absoultely want a sports car while in school. I going to recommend one or maybe three cars. a whole lot of people may not believe them to be truely desirable sportscars.......if yo want to believe that kind of thing, but get either a 1st gen. Miata, second gen RX-7, or a 2nd gen. MR-2.
The aftermarket will be more than enough to drain any "excess" money you may have.....and it would be easier to have a "car fund" for things like service, moddifying, and emergencies.
