Wouldn't Michael Jackson be changing to white?

If he's repainting due to wear and tear on the paint after 8 years, why not keep it similar to the color he bought it as?

It's like restoring a British Racing Green Jag E-type and then repainting it orange. Now that makes no sense to me.
