Thanks, everyone, for your input. I just off the phone with the dealer, which happens to be the new Cristwell Honda in Germantown, MD. I really like the way they do business. (and thanks, Andyp, for your tip and offer ) I have decided to go with the yellow. It IS what I want. I've waited 54 years; I certainly can wait another two or three weeks! At least one of them will be at the beach : That'll help pass the time. And, if I'm lucky, the car just might be waiting for me: Hope against hope . . . .

Wait. It's worth it when it's all over. I almost went with silver when the wait for my Suzuka got too heavy. You have to get THE car YOU want. You about my age, and this car is a keeper, you NEED to have the color you want. You can take it on the next vacation. Or, find one on the Internet, if you can (I tried for a Suzuka, but nothing reasonably close). AndyP sounds like he has one coming, at least in the same state.

I was in the same situation as you, and age bracket as well. All I wanted was the Sebring Silver. It took almost exactly 2 months from the day I ordered it, but the day I took delivery, I knew the wait was worth it. It sounds like you've located your yellow S2000. Reading messages on this forum twice a day kept me going for 2 months, so 3 weeks should fly by for you.

Hey Marc,
Glad to hear you got your Spa. They're awesome -- just be prepared, because no other color attracts so much attention!
You have a great experience in store. And believe me -- you'll get to know all the back roads around Frederick once your car arrives.
See you on the road!

Hey, Helios! You know what is really great? I KNOW all the backroads around Frederick already!! I've blown around them on my bike for the last few years. I gotta tell you, there are some really GREAT roads around here and in nearby West Virginia!!! I CAN"T WAIT!!!! All I have to do is remember that my reaction times aren't quite what they used to be

BTW, this is truly a great web site and forum!! Thanks to all you guys! You will make my waiting a lot easier.

Ugly cars, like ugly women, are not something to be settled for just because they're easier to get. Wait for what you want and be happy.

Marc, I feel your pain.... As I just pick up my new s2k last nite without even searching for one. I had a sudden surge to get a s2k and without knowing the price or the color I want. I just went to a dealership (of course I called to make sure they had one!) Yellow was my first choice but I was surprised the blue turned out pretty sharp!!!! (That what I got!) I was so excited that I stayed up all nite watching all the soccer matches (couldn't sleep!) Just wanta share my feeling towards my s2k to all of you.....

My God, GundamZ! I can't believe your luck!! Really jealous

Ready for this! Yesterday, I'm home telecommuting and get a call from the dealer at around 1:00 PM. "Hey," he says, "do you want to take a new car on your trip on Saturday?" I begin to shake. "Sure," I say! He then tells me that a RED one just came in on the truck and that it would be mine if I wanted it. I am dumbstruck. What to do? I ask him to turn me over to the sales manager that I've struck up a relation with. We mull it over. I take it as a sign from God that RED is right and say I'll take it.

I'm peeing in my pants and am ready to call my boss and tell him I'm taking the rest of the day off. (He is a car nut and LOVES the S2000.)

Just then, the salesman comes into his boss's office. A moment later, I hear the manager sau, "You tell him." Apparently, the car was not allocated to the dealer and the truck drove away. I can't even begin to tell you how I felt

So, I'm back to getting my Spa Lady when I get back from vacation during the first week of July. At least that is what they say!!

The rest of yesterday was a total burn-out
