Default Color Temp of our HIDs?

Hey...let me be the first to say..."USE THE SEARCH!"

I tried...but I received an error...

HTTP 404 - File Not Found

So...does anyone know the "Color Temperature" of our (S2000) HIDs?

Hmmm...I've searched and I continue to find websites that sell HID kits (I'm thinking of converting the Element's lights to HID) and they sell the kits in color ranges from 3k to 20k. OMG!!!

you can drop 12,000k bulbs in your s2k, but your ballast will last about a month. if you need to upgrade your hids, go for 6200-6500k. they shouldnt work you stock ballsts to hard.

Higher temp, the less light output i believe. Most german cars use 4600k i believe because after that the light output decreases.

Now for my stupid question, i dont own an S, but did all model years come with HID's??

it's between 4200-4700...that is the optimal range for light production. If you go outside of that(either higher or lower) you are downgrading your headlights and putting out less light to see with.

All stock HID systems are 4300K. The higher the Kelvin the more blue/purple(ultraviolet) they get and the less light output you get. Lower you go they get more yellow(go low enough and it dips into infrared). All the colors you see from different cars like BMW are not due to the bulbs, they are due to the optic designs inside the headlight housing.
