hey i bought a comptech cai from hardtopguy and found after a couple weeks they are back ordered till march 15th... and this was supposed to be a christmas present to myself lol. anywho anyone know of anywhere that has this cai in stock?? thx...

 

Try going directly through comptech.

 

He has a pretty good relationship with Comptech and I think most of his parts are drop shipped by them anyway, I doubt it will help.

 

Comptech has had a back order issue with these all year. So much so that we dropped the bulk of the CT line. 5 Months wait is just unresonable. We had three on order that took almost 5 months to ship.

 

I ended up waiting over 4 months for my CAI, and I eventually cancelled the order. As much as I would like a comptech intake, the wait was unreasonable. My understanding is that they package the same CAI with the supercharger kit, and those get priority over just the standalone intake orders.

 

I have a duel cat back exhaust system on back order too. I finally spoke to the GM in the Service Department and askd what was the delay. He said that they are waiting for the shipments of steel and other supplies to arrive before they can manufacucture them. He said the big shipment of steel was due to be dropped at their site on Feb 17.

I do not know if this relates at all to your item but I thought it might be helpful.

 

I ordered mine directly through ct in December and it shipped this week. They should be in stock now. Call them directly, and make sure to ask for the most recent model (as they told me it has been altered for clearance issues...)
